  • Sleep Solutions

This workshop is aimed at sharing information on common sleep challenges in children and provides practical sleep strategies to help you and your child sleep better.
  • Teaching Daily Living Skills
May 11 | 6:30-8:30 pm | Bristol Circle site

In this workshop you will learn to use Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) strategies to teach your child daily living skills (i.e. getting dressed and personal hygiene). The strategies you will learn include prompting, chaining and shaping.
  • Steps Towards Positive Change

Once you understand why your child behaves in certain ways, you may wonder what to do next. In this workshop, you will learn what happens before an undesired behavior occurs, what to do after it occurs, how to set goals to change the behavior, and strategies you can use to teach your child replacement behaviours.
  • Toilet Learning: Let’s talk about your expectations

This workshop will focus on strategies to help you and your child during the development of skills necessary to become toilet trained.
  • Little People Big Worries

Information on anxiety in children including possible causes and its effect on families. Coping skills and strategies will be provided.
  • Understanding Behaviour (Behaviour 101)
May 14 | 1:30-3:30 pm | Burloak site

In this workshop you will learn how to define behavior, including examples of appropriate and challenging behavior. You will learn how to apply the Antecedent-Behaviour-Consequence (A-B-C) Model, looking at the different functions of behavior and general teaching strategies.
  • Reinforcement 101

Reinforcement is a key principle to Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). You will learn to distinguish between negative and positive reinforcement, identify possible reinforcers for your child and how to fade the reinforcers.
  • Teaching Play and Social Skills

In this workshop you will learn why it is important to teach play and social skills. You will learn how to create opportunities for teaching in your child’s natural environment such as at home and out in the community.
  • One Bite At a Time

This workshop is aimed at helping you develop strategies to address eating challenges your child may have.

Peel Behavioural Services (PBS) 

  • Emotional Regulation | May 11 | 9:30 am- 12 pm
This workshop is for mediators and will introduce basic techniques of behavior management. The techniques focus on teaching new behaviours or replacement skills and reducing behaviours that are problematic.
  • Toilet Training | May 4 and 25 | 9:30 am-12 pm
This 2 part workshop will provide mediators with simple, positive strategies to help the individual achieve success with day time and night time toilet training.
