Toilet training is definitely an issue for many parents. Often, our children do not display the typical readiness signs. Also, they may have sensory issues (i.e. toilet flushing is too loud), anxiety, an inability to communicate effectively, and/or experience gastrointestinal discomfort (i.e. diarrhea, constipation). But, it is possible to teach our children how to use the toilet – even non verbal children. Don’t be alarmed if it seems like it’s taking forever. Everyone operates on a different schedule. Patience and consistency will win in the end.

Here are some resources that may be helpful*

Downloadable Guides
Books (These are just a few but there are TONS out there. Check your local library and regional provider as well for books on toileting)
Apps (Just a few to try. There are many to choose from)
